Possible Early Christian graveyard. South Welsh borders 'stow' place name element may replace Welsh 'llan', or 'enclosed cemetery'. No evidence for this usage in Devon, however, Pearce argues that the churchyard at Petrockstow is morphologically of an Early Christian type.
