Collier, W. F., 1877, 1st Reportof the Committee on Dartmoor, 121 (Article in Serial). SDV225003.

Group of remains at Merrivale Bridge beside the road. There is a menhir, a so-called sacred circle, stone rows, a kistvaen, hut circles and a cairn.

Burnard, R., 1902, The Disappearing Stone Monuments of Dartmoor, 167 (Article in Serial). SDV282719.

Merrivale Bridge. A cairn stood near the cromlech. Was removed to make a road. Possible hut circle.

Sites of a Bronze Age hut circle, cairn and chambered tomb recorded in Sites and Monuments Register:
At Merrivale Bridge the quoit that covered the cromlech was destroyed. Also the cairn that stood near the cromlech was removed to make a road. A hut circle near the Bridge has also been destroyed. (Merrivale Bridge SX 550750). (TDA 1877, 121 & 34 1902, 167)
(Visited 21/11/1979) None of the above mentioned sites is now visible and it is uncertain where they were originally located.
