HER Number:MDV41999
Name:34-36 Wolborough Street, Newton Abbot

Summary

Excavation in 1983 prior to demolition revealed structural evidence from the 13th century with major changes in the 14th and 15th century. Development to the rear of the building continued throughout the 15th-18th century, and substantial rebuilding occurred in the 19th century. The division between numbers 34 and 36 probably came about in the 1930s, and destroyed much evidence of earlier work.
