Full description

Department of Environment, 1988, Molland, 65 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV337231.

House, early to mid 18th century with late 19th century additions and late 20th century remodelling. Uncoursed stone rubble, with rendered first floor and gable ends, possibly over cob. Gable-ended asbestos-slate roof, with lower pitched catslide over outshut at rear. Square stone stacks with weatherings and caps.
Plan and development: 2-room plan, facing south. Larger principal room to left with external end stack and smaller room to right with integral end stack. Central entrance, and central staircase rising from entrance. Possibly later outshut at rear and probably later outshut to right. Integral corner stack to rear outshut. Two-storeys with 1-storey additions.
Exterior: symmetrical front with 3 windows to first floor and 2 to ground floor; late 19th or early 20th century 2-and 3-light wooden casements, those on ground floor with small panes. Central 19th century boarded door with wooden frame and gable porch. One-storey lean-to outshut right and boarded door to left with beaded pegged frame.
Interior: 18th century doors with 4 raised and fielded panels. Back of former L-shaped bench in left-hand ground-floor room. Eighteenth century cupboard with raised and fielded panels in right-hand ground-floor room. Stairs altered. Cupboard under stairs has 18th century boarded door with strap hinges in outshut at rear. First floor and roofspace not inspected.
