Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.
'Windpump' depicted on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey map (approximately 1905-7 in date).
Ordnance Survey, 1930, 4th Edition (Cartographic). SDV339601.
No sign of the windpump on the 1930 Ordnance Survey map (or any subsequent versions).
Kelly Mine Preservation Society, 2000, The Remains of Shaptor Mine, 2 (Un-published). SDV347725.
A square block, thought to be concrete, was noted at this site in 2000 with a single holding bolt in the centre. It is thought to be the mounting for the wind pump which may have been used for pumping water from the shaft (indicating the shaft may extend below the adit level).
