Plot 337a is recorded as 'Burrow House' within the Seaton and Beer Tithe Apportionment.

The 1839-40 Tithe Map shows a dwelling on The Barrow at Axmouth and the occupier is named as the Reverend John Badcock. He lived at the manor house and used this as a superior beach-hut.

The building is not present on the First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, but the area to the north is labelled as 'The Barrow' on both the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps.
