Plot 709 on the Stokeinteignhead Tithe Map of 1843 is recorded as 'Kiln Field' within the Tithe Apportionment. The field name indicates the presence of a limekiln within the vicinity, although no features are depicted within this location on the Tithe Map. An 'Old Limekiln' is labelled and depicted within the north-east corner of the field on the First and Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps, but is not present on the Ordnance Survey Master Map.
