Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950/1977, SX66SW41 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV166610.

(31/03/1950) Fields are correct as shown. Hut circles and field system. Eight huts, well built, with four or five associated rectangular fields. Field walls are of stone, with lynchets. Good condition, untouched.

Agglomerated enclosure or small field system visible, comprising three main elements containing eight hut circles, all attached.

Five roughly rectangular fields, all adjoining with irregularly built walls. Each field contains between one tenth to half a hectrare in area and the largest, to the north of the settlement contains a large area of surface stone, or clitter. The newtake wall appears to faithfully preserve the northern boundary of the fields. Other details: Map 52, 5.
