Summary

Cropmarks of a ditch up to circa 3m wide are visible on aerial photographs of 1987 on the north-facing slopes overlooking the River Teign. The cropmarks define a rectilinear enclosure circa 24 to 38m wide, north to south, and 34 to 39m long, west to east. A circa 4m wide break in the cropmark defining the western edge of the enclosure might mark access to the interior of the enclosure. The enclosure is interpreted as probably of later prehistoric to Roman date.
Many of the aerial photographs consulted are copies of DAPs held by the Historic England Archive. These have been recorded here as separate sources as there is a possibility that variations in processing could result in images on which archaeological features show differently than on the original images.
