Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880s, Ordnance Survey (Cartographic). SDV848.

Site of 'Zeal Quarry' shown on OS 25" (1880s & 1906) maps as a large circular feature with a long rectangular building to the northwest. The building is shown as 'Old Limekiln' on the 1906 map (see PRN 42173). Other details: Also on OS 25" (1906) map.

Bannister, N. R., 1992, Gazetteer (Worksheet). SDV325038.

Large quarry with limekiln sited in it. Dixon suggests that this is the site of an Iron Mine (see PRN 47120). Other details: No 114.
