Vis=-/2/1994(shenfield + sainsbury) now thought not to be a cairn (letter).

Vis=2003(ea) no features were identified in this area during the field survey (ea).


Shenfield, I. W., 1991, Cairn or Barrow (Worksheet). SDV123459.

Vis=10/9/1991 (shenfield) ruined cairn or barrow recorded at sy10618925 may refer to this feature. Diam 13.2m internal, 16.3m external. Outline difficult to trace owing to dense vegetation, tree trunks and new coniferous plantation. Central depression 0.4m deep

Disturbed bank of flint identified in 1991 as possible cairn site. However, results of further investigation suggests that this is not a cairn. The site lies within the western edge of the survey area. No features were identified in this area during the field survey.
