Parish boundary stone embedded into south side of barrow (site 288) on Gittisham/Sidbury boundary. Stone 0.33 metre wide by 0.13 metre thick by 0.32 metre visible height above ground. Stone has rounded top and is worked smooth. Large letter ‘G’ is carved on north side (0.10 metres wide by 0.12 metre high), letter on south side (presumably an ’S’) is eroded and difficult to decipher. The stone is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1891 1:10560 map (Sheet 70NE). The barrow forms a scheduled monument together with another barrow that lies to south of the road (see site 382).
