Full description

Council for the Care of Churches, North Huish St. Mary the Virgin, Annex, p4-5 (Report - non-specific). SDV345309.

The church contains a number of 17th-19th century monuments. They include:
1. Revd. John Allen, died 1853. A white gothic tablet within an ogee arch with pinnacles at each side.
2. Richard Ellis, Rector, died 1639. Black tablet with Gothic lettering.
3. Thomas King, died 1843. White tablet with Vitruvian scroll frieze.
4. Revd. Peter Perring, died 1851. White gothic tablet.
5. Anne King, died 1847. Plain white tablet with panels at each side, florets on the brackets and drapery above.
6. John Allen, died 1846. White tablet with inverted torches at each side and wearth in the pediment.
7. Richard Strode of Newham Park, died 1790. White panel containing a verse. Strode's wife (died 1806) was called Admonition.
8. William Bowden, died 1856. White tablet
9. James Cornish, died 1865. Brass tablet.
10. Elizabeth Ann Hall, died 1891. Alabaster tablet with mosaic of kneeling angels at each side.
11. Hubert Cornish, died 1832. White tablet.
12. James Cornish, died 1837. White tablet.
13. William Floyer Cornish, died 1830. White tablet.
14. Ann Bowden, died 1865. Small plain white tablet.
15. 17th century incised tablet set in floor beside west respond of south arcade. Now illegible.
16. Thomas Bowden, died 1863. Small plain tablet.
