Grinsell, L. V., 1978, Dartmoor Barrows, 144 (Article in Serial). SDV273224.

(27/02/1977 Turner, J. R.). Crossing's 'large tumulus' may be a peat stack, if not destroyed by military activities.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1980, SX68NW42 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV240858.

(02/03/1980) Okement Hill (SX 60248776) is a relatively flat-topped hill covered by pasture and heather with some peat mounds. There are no visible signs of a cairn and the high point of the hill is now occupied by a military Observation Post.

Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, 1985, Aerial Photograph Project (Dartmoor) - Dartmoor Pre-NMP (Cartographic). SDV319854.

This is possibly the barrow or whatever visible on RAF 1947 aerial photograph.

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1993-1998, Dartmoor Royal Forest Project, S. Probert (Report - Survey). SDV346608.

(02/09/1993) SX 6025878 locality only. There is no ground evidence to confirm the presence of the large tumulus suggested by Crossing. The hilltop has suffered severe disturbance. In particular the northern side is pockmarked by relatively small shell craters while the area immediately south-east of Observation Post 15 (SX 68 NW 93) possesses some massive shell craters (SX 68 NW 100).
