Summary

Documentary references to Higher and Lower Maudlin Street suggest they were built in the 1830s a result of the creation of the lace factory at Derby. Lower Maudlin Street and much of the east side of Higher Maudlin Street have now been demolished. A health centre now occupies much of the site of Lower Maudlin Street.

Full description

Higher and lower Maudlin Streets marked comprising rows of terraced houses with a school at the north-eastern end of Lower Maudlin Street.

According to documentary references Higher and Lower Maudlin Streets were built in the 1830s, as a result of the creation of the lace factory in Derby.
