Full description

Pengelly, W., 1876, Devonshire Gleanings from 'Notes and Queries', 713 (Article in Serial). SDV56474.

Brass of George Cary in full armour lying on ornamented cross with coat of arms. Cross and inscription earlier than brass which is dated 1540.


Corbould, P., 1968, The Monumental Brasses of Devon, 35, 38, 40 (Article in Serial). SDV84760.

All Saints. Brass, dated 1540, to Master Robert Cary. In armour. The brass is set in a stone memorial to Hugo Mychellstowe circa.1488.
Second Cary brass in armour dated 1601. Inscription.
In the sanctuary is an engraving of a bishop's crozier. No inscription or date.
Brass of 1655 shows a skeleton with a spade for one year old Anne Cary.
