Former estate lodge thought to have been built in the 19th century. A single storey octagonal building with a long range attached. The walls are mainly rendered and the roofs of slate. It has Gothick arch-headed windows, an open front veranda and a tall chimney stack.
It has been suggested that this was a toll house. However, this was probably the gate lodge to Oaklands House, the turnpike gate being further up the hill.
