Vis=15/9/1992 (morgan). Rare survival of decorated fireplace. Chimney decoration entirely consistent with the date attributed to farmhouse in doe list description (ie c xvii). Painting differs from other examples. Dark blue is a sophisticated departure from the strong reds or blacks usually associated with this decoration. Quality of brushwork assured (morgan).
