Stranded under Gawlish Cliff in fog. Already breaking up when approached by lifeboat.
Behenna, J., 1974, Westcountry Shipwrecks, 44 (Monograph). SDV8127.
The 'Huddersfield' Tramp steamer, 2,055 tons, 289 feet long, 43 feet beam. Built in 1900. Enroute from Barry to the River Plate with coal. Wrecked under cliffs about 1 mile east of Hartland Point on 27th January 1908. Other details: Photograph.
