Site of former tea house, used as dwelling in early 20th century but has now almost entirely fallen into the sea. The building, which is depicted on the Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of between 1904-06, is not visible on, and so post-dates, the First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.

Full description

GRIMSHAW, Untitled Source (Report - Survey). SDV160496.

Vis=-/-/1992 (grimshaw) this building was the teahouse of the flete estate. It stood on the cliff at the eastern side of westcombe bay. It was extant in the early years of c20, when it was used as a dwelling, but it has now almost entirely fallen into the sea (grimshaw).
