Summary

A former quarry of probable post-medieval to 19th-century date is depicted on 19th century maps on the south-west facing slopes west to the west of Langdon Cross. The quarry remains visible as earthwork pits and mounds under tree cover on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2015 and is clearly identifiable on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019.
