Full description

Keene, B., 1992, Wall Footings, Clare Rectory, Tiverton (Worksheet). SDV349458.

A watching brief was undertaken during stabilisation and re-pointing of the garden walls at Clare House. It is not known whether the wall predates the house, which is said to lie on the site of at least one previous rectory, described in 1605 as 'all very ruinous but now repaired'.
