On the 1841 Revelstoke tithe map, the site occupies two plots fronting Noss Creek, called 'Poor House and Garden (Plot 151) and 'Cottage and Yard' (Plot 152) on the accompanying tithe apportionment, with a smaller building shown in a similar position to the later chapel.
