Track and steps. Track approximately 5 metres wide terraced into slope below south side of castle. Its south side has traces of a revetment wall which is a continuation of one of the walls below the castle, as shown on Grose's plan of 1775. At its east end immediately above and to west of Benson's Cave and below the east bastion is a flight of ten roughly cut granite steps to the cave path. Above the cave the track opens out to its terminal, on a flatish platform. Track in poor condition. Other details: 101,159. Map object based on this Source.
