Summary

A shaft of moorland granite. Inscribed on the south-east face - T9 I. E. , T9 overlined. On north-west face west, and on south-west face so. In use as gatepost to a field. Measures 1.2 metres high, 0.2 metres square in section.

(04/10/1974) The granite gatepost of this map reference is roughly similar to that described but there are intelligible marks on it or on the neighbouring hanging post. The milestone, probably of 18th or 19th century date, has perhaps been replaced but neither the farmer nor previous owner has any knowledge of it.

(19/10/1950) SX5222 8555 Old milestone used as a gatepost. A shaft of moorland granite 1.2 metres high, 20 centimetres square in section. On the south-east face its is inscribed "T9" and on the south-western face "OB".
