Adjoining the tramway near its ventiford terminus was a 2-storey rectangular structure of granite.1861 plan marks this "pound house". Its position and granite construction suggests that it was originally closely associated with the tramway. Consists of long rectangular building with originally a series of doorways and windows in all 4 walls. Most have since been blocked, and later developments have included insertion of n-s partition wall and fireplace at w end. A cider press was later installed in front of the fireplace after it had gone out of use. Now largely derelict and used as a barn and stock shelter (pye).
