Summary
Teignbridge lock. The first lock on stover canal upstream from jetty marsh. After the construction of the railway in 1862-66 it became the commercial terminus of the canal, replacing ventiford basin (sx87sw/167). The lock originally had sloping earthen sides, and was built to take 2 barges end to end. The difference is recorded as being only 0.15m (citing ewans).
