Widgery Cross, Battor. Not an ancient cross, but erected by Widgery, the artist in 1887 to commemorate the Jubilee year of Queen Victoria. A Latin cross built up of small roughly cut blocks, set up on the rock on the summit of the tor. On one side of the base stone of the shaft is the incised inscription "W. Widgery,fecit. Jubilee. V. R. ".

Widgery Cross on Brat Tor. A granite cross on the summit erected by William Widgery in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. Unlike ancient Dartmoor crosses that were hewn out of a single stone this one is built up with granite blocks.
