Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1903, 6" 15SE, OS 6" 15SE (Cartographic). SDV61742.
Site of 'Shaft' shown on OS 6" (1903) map.

Dixon, D., 1983, Untitled Source, 279 (Monograph). SDV322502.
Shaft, Upcott Mine. Site marked by a depression set between the mounds of 2 spoil heaps in SW corner of field. Dewey noted that it was said to be 27 fathoms deep, with a winze a further 10 fathoms deep. The farmer states that the shaft was capped wth pine logs in 1912.
