Full description

Unknown, 1831, Plan of Sheldon Common (Cartographic). SDV338944.

The place-name at the junction of the parish boundaries for Kentisbeare, Broadhembury and Sheldon, is 'Worway Stone', on the 1831 plan of Sheldon Common.

Orway or Worway Stone is mentioned in 1543 according to H. Barret, a local historian. The location though, is given as Orway Cross (at ST08280690).
