Assessment of all available aerial photography from 1948 onwards and imagery generated from remote sensing techniques suggests that the recorded enclosure boundary was probably the remains of a field boundary of medieval to 19th century date, as depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of circa 1880-1890. As such it was not transcribed by the survey.
