Name:Huts 22 and 23 in settlement north of White Tor

Summary

Pair of possible huts that lie at the north-eastern edge of the enclosure. Attached to the boundary wall, they lie within the area subdivided into the (later?), smaller enclosure. Hut 22 measures 2.6 metres diameter, with a level grassy interior. Adjoins Hut 23 which consists of an amorphous hollow on side of reave. Possible later clearance obscures identification.

Full description

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., (Feb 1992) (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

Hut circles at SX54387886. Conjoined hut circle. Southern structure internal diameter 2.6 metres, defined by rubble wall 1.5 metres wide, 0.6 metres high. Northern structure internal diameter 2.0 metres, single orthostat wall 2.5 metres wide, 0.6 metres high. Attached to boundary wall of enclosure (MDV4162) and is therefore probably amongst the earlier huts.
