Full description

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1987-1993, Duchy Farms Project Survey Visit, Fletcher, M. J. (Report - Survey). SDV350839.

(02/12/1987) Hut 17, SX 53887699 and Hut 18, SX 53877699. Two contiguous hut circles built against the reave which at this point is a strong double faced wall of moorland boulders measuring 2.1m wide and about 0.5m high.
Hut 17. SX 53887699. Measures 2m in internal diameter and is levelled into the slope to a depth of 0.3m. The wall of small boulder and stone construction is 1.4m wide and 0.5m high. The entrance is in the north-east side.
Hut 18. SX 53877699. Measures 3m internal diameter with a wall of small boulder and stone construction with inner facing boulders is approx 1.2m wide and 0.5m high. It has what appears to be an 0.8m square niche cut into the side of the reave. The entrance is in the north-east side.

(February 1992) Conjoined plan with single orthostat wall. Interior of south-western section is 3m in diameter, defined by 1.2m wide wall, 0.5m high. Doorway to north-east.
Interior of south-eastern part is 2m in diameter; wall 1.4m wide, 0.5m high. Attached to great western reave (SX57NW/9).
