Full description
Horner, W., 1992, Archaeological Survey, Meadowsfoot Beach, Mothecombe (Report - Survey). SDV140205.
The stones may represent a wall pre-dating the current bank and fence, although they are stratified quite deeply beneath current surface features. Also, a further exposure of stones at cSX61014739 may be part of same structure which may therefore not be on the same alignment as the modern bank. On the east side of March exposure was a compacted layer of sandy soil, similar to PRN 4849, but without any obvious bone or charcoal content. Masked however by sand and dune vegetation.

Deposit of blown sand observed under a midden. No bones and very little marine shell visible. Sand deposited sometime after submerged forest bed.
