Milestone on A381 at Two Mile Oak Cross on north-west side of road on grass verge close to inn. Inscribed 'To/Newton/2/Miles' on the left hand face and 'To/Totnes/6/Miles' on the right. In good condition. Black paint in deep cut inscription; note change from Roman to Arabic numbers. In good condition. One of number of sturdy granite milestones erected by the Totnes and Bridgetown Pomeroy Turnpike Trust circa 1824-1832.
