Summary

Cairn south-west of Raddick Hill. Sub-circular cairn, measures 5.0 metres in diameter, 0.2 metres high; one of a group of cairns in the area. Difficult to trace because of the dense undergrowth however the mounds that are still visible are turf-covered and constructed of boulders and stones; no kerbs are evident.

(SX5742 7043) Sub-circular cairn, 5.0 metres in diameter, 0.2 metres high.

(30/05/2007) Bronze Age cairns located on a slight south-west facing slope in gorse-covered moorland. They are difficult to trace because of the dense undergrowth however the mounds that are still visible are turf-covered and constructed of boulders and stones; no kerbs are evident. Cairns in this scattered unenclosed group surveyed at 1:2500 scale.

Scheduled 1990 (ancient monuments) Cairn forming part of a cairnfield of 17 mounds, two lengths of boundary bank and a lynchet. Mound diameter 5m, 0.7m high.

Original grid reference of this record from the Monument Mapping Programme (MPP) visit (1992) placed it in Raddick Plantation, but according to the old Ordnance Survey number and the MPP number it refers to this cairn scheduled as 1007417.
