The seat of the Addington family. The old manor house was rebuilt by William Addington, 2nd Viscount Sidmouth in 1846. William's father was Prime Minister Hentry Addington. It was sold by the 6th Viscount in 1953. Plans to turn it into a hotel came to naught and the house was demolished in 1962. Only the lodge and stables remain.
