Full description
Department of Environment, 1989, West Exe Spot List (Un-published). SDV349237.
Terrace of three working-class or artisans' houses. Probably built about 1900. Red brick with occasional extra headers; low chamfered plinth. Slated roof. Two red-brick chimneys on party-walls, the tops with projecting courses forming caps; spiked chimneypots.
Exterior: two storeys with garrets. Each house one-window wide with doorway to left. Raised band between storeys. Opening has curved arches. Doors four-panelled, the two lower panels flush; cast-iron knockers at nos 22 and 24. Plain fanlights. Windows have six-paned sashes. Deeply-projecting, lightly-moulded eaves-cornice. Three gables dormers with slate-hung sides and moulded bargeboards; two-light wood casements with two panes per light. Patterned iron ventilator-grilles set into the plinth. Interiors not inspected.
