A clay pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the south of Baxters Farm. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 57m in length by 26m in width and is located in an area where numerous similar such features have been recorded during this survey. The eastern edge of the clay pit is partly depicted on the Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s and a copse is also depicted here on this map.
