Clay pits of likely post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southeast of Baxters Farm. The three irregular shaped earthworks are located either side of a track and are partly depicted and labelled as ‘Old Clay Pits’ on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.
