Full description

1890, Untitled Source (Report - Survey). SDV137014.

Vis=16/9/1992 (simpson and noble) a simple random chert constructed linhay stands here at the end of a former track. The open front to the s is supported by two chert stone pillars, there is a double door on e side. Another agricultural building is said to have stood to the s of this in an overgrown area. It may be shown on os 6" (1890) (emafu).

DBA undertaken along a corridor associated with the A30/A303 between Honiton and Devonshire Inn. This study is intended to inform the development of options for improvements to the A30/A303 between Honiton and Devonshire Inn.

The survey also noted the ruined remains of four Linhays (a form of open sided cattle barn common in Devon) all of which are depicted on the Tithe Maps of the 1840s (Figure 21 & 3-6, WA 109, 126).
