In the north-western corner of the enclosure now containing Castlewell (formerly divided into three plots), there was a house and garden on the Tithe Map/Apportionment (plot 1407); the house and remaining plots within the enclosure belonged to Stockland Church Wardens. The building is no longer shown; Castlewell and another probable dwelling lay to the south. The enclosure was excluded from the survey; the surrounding area was inaccessible due to dense woodland and undergrowth.
