A well preserved standard-issue war office iron railing fence divides frobisher battery from the land to the north-east; it is the same fence as that crossing the ditch (see sx45se/443/01) runs c sx49055106 - sx49195088 (plymouth fortress survey).

A linear ditch, approximately a metre wide and flanked by narrow earthwork banks, is visible on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1948. It follows the same line as the Second World War iron railings recorded in the Plymouth Fortress Survey, and may have been caused by their installation.
