An extractive pit of probable post-medieval to 19th century date is as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1992 and remains identifiable as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.
The visible earthwork corresponds with an ‘Old Quarry’ depicted on the on the Ordnance Survey 1880s 25inch First Edition map as ‘Old Quarry’. The pit remains depicted on the current OS MasterMap base map.
The pit was not transcribed by the survey.
