A linear earthwork, visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014, corresponds to part of a bank depicted on historic maps either side and perpendicular to a watercourse south of Weycroft Manor. At its southern end it curves around to the west. The bank has been interpreted as part of a dam associated with medieval mills at Weycroft. While there are no clear traces of the bank south of the watercourse it seems to survive well on the northern side.

Dean, R., 2018, Land at east of Axminster, Devon: Geophysical Survey (Report - Geophysical Survey). SDV361775.

This report presents the results of an archaeological geophysical survey at the site. The survey was commissioned by AC Archaeology Ltd on behalf of clients in support of a planning application.

Group 2 represents disturbed deposits and stony material with some ferrous material likely
to reflect the removal and subsequent in-filling of a former medieval dam.
