Summary

Part of the settlement to the south of the road. Survey in 2000 recorded this hut. Measures 4.8 metres in diameter internally and walls survive to a height of 0.4 metres and width of 1.1 metres

Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950, SX57SE19 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV219145.

Hut circle GG (SX 5546 7494) measures 10.0 metres, with 1.0 metre wide walls remaining to a height of 0.3 metres. Double walled, large circle, much despoiled for stone. Condition fair, entrance not apparent.

Hut circle within a large partially enclosed settlement; terraced into the hill slope and is of the simple plan and single orthostat walling type. Interior measures 5.2 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.4 metre wide wall standing up to 0.5 metres high, except around the west side where partial robbing has removed a 3.0 metre length of the wall.
