Summary

Hut circle 'D'. Terraced into the hillslope and is of the simple plan and rubble bank walling type. The interior of the structure measures 4.3 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.5 metres wide wall standing up to 0.5 metres high. A short length of the western wall of the building has seen limited damage and now survives largely as a buried feature.

Stone hut circle at SX 58177257 within a large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement, on a gentle south-west facing slope. Terraced into the hillslope and is of the simple plan and rubble bank walling type. The interior of the structure measures 4.3 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.5 metres wide wall standing up to 0.5 metres high. A short length of the western wall of the building has seen limited damage and now survives largely as a buried feature.
This settlement was partially excavated in 1895 by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, but it is not known which huts were investigated.
This stone hut circle is not itself of national importance, but survives within an unenclosed stone hut circle settlement of national importance.

This monument includes 36 stone hut circles dispersed within an irregular aggregate field system situated on a gentle west-facing slope overlooking the valley of the River Meavy and forming part of a large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement between Hart Tor and Devil's Bridge.
