Summary

Hut terraced into the hillslope; of the simple plan and double orthostat walling type. The interior of the structure measures 5.8m in diameter and is defined by a 1.6m wide wall standing up to 0.7m high. The doorway faces south-south-west and is lined on both sides with slabs. A large number of granite slabs lying horizontally in the base of the interior probably represent the floor. This hut was probably partially excavated in 1895 by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee.

24/8/1950 (SX 5818 7245) Hut I (9.5m diameter, walls 2.3m wide). A double walled type with a wall of unusually great width. To the north extreme are huge granite boulders, now fallen, and in the centre is a pile of small granite stones - evidently the result of excavation. Entrance to the south; condition very good.
