In 1901 plans were prepared by the architect A.E. Cole for two rows of nine houses each to be built on Helling's Fields to the south-west of St Paul's Church, forming Queen Street.

Two rows of red brick houses, two storeys and attic. Canted bay window, to left of doorway on north side of street, to right on south side, with sash window above and dormer to attic. Nos 1 and 2 have the entrance on King Street, with sash windows either side to ground and first floors, a narrow sash above the door, and two small sashes in the gable. Nos 17 and 18 have a second canted bay on the west elevations.
