Summary

Stone hut circle 'W' within a large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement. Terraced into the hillslope and is of the simple plan and single orthostat walling type. The interior of the structure measures 5.0 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.2 metres wide wall standing up to 0.8 metres high. The doorway faces south and is lined on both sides with upright slabs. The doorway is visually one of the most impressive within the settlement.

24/8/1950 (SX 5812 7227) Hut W (6.0m diameter, walls 0.4m high). Much overgrown and despoiled. Entrance clearly marked at the south by two large standing stones (0.7m and 0.8m high). Condition fair.

Stone hut circle within a large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement. Terraced into the hillslope and is of the simple plan and single orthostat walling type. The interior of the structure measures 5.0 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.2 metres wide wall standing up to 0.8 metres high. The doorway faces south and is lined on both sides with upright slabs.
This settlement was partially excavated in 1895 by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, but it is not known which huts were investigated. The doorway is visually one of the most impressive within the settlement.

This monument includes a stone hut circle lying on a west-facing slope overlooking the valley of the River Meavy and forming part of a large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement situated between Devil's Bridge and Hart Tor. The hut is terraced into the hillside and is composed of a stone and earth wall surrounding a circular internal area. The interior of the building measures 5.0 metres in diameter and the 1.2 metres wide wall stands up to 0.8 metres high. A doorway, lined on both sides with upright slabs, leads through the southern wall of the hut.
